At the end of may, orders for hand-held vessels totaled 890.3 million deadweight tons, up 7.5 percent from a year earlier and 2.1 percent from the end of 2017.

From January to may, 15.48 million tons of payload capacity of completed export vessels nationwide fell by 28.2% year on year. To undertake export ship orders of 18.34 million deadweight tons, up 108% year on year; At the end of may, orders for export ships reached 84,000 deadweight tons, up 1.5% year on year. Export ships accounted for 94.2%, 93.2% and 89.9% of China's shipbuilding completion, new orders and hand-held orders respectively.
